Services

Tailor-made services

From pre-construction to project completion, we'll work with you every step of the way.

Structural Drawings

The bulk of our work. We assess what the existing structure can take, design what's needed, and issue drawings and calculations that Building Control will accept and your builder can price from.

Rear Extensions

We provide structural engineering design for rear extensions, from single storey kitchen extensions to multi storey additions.

Our scope typically includes foundation design, steel beam and support design for opening up the rear of the property, and detailing to ensure the new structure integrates seamlessly with the existing building.

We work closely with architects, contractors and homeowners to deliver practical, buildable solutions that support open plan living and maximise natural light.

Loft conversions

Dormers, mansards, hip to gable and L shaped conversions.

We design the new floor structure, the steels supporting the roof and any alterations to the existing roof frame.

We produce the calculations and drawings your builder needs and Building Control will accept.

Removals and alterations

Load bearing walls, chimney breasts, widened openings.

We tell you what's possible and produce the design to make it happen, from initial feasibility through to the calculations, drawings and details your contractor needs on site.

New Builds

From single houses to multi storey flats and offices, we provide structural engineering design for new build projects of all scales.

Working alongside architects and developers from concept through to construction, we develop structural solutions that suit the architectural vision, respond to site constraints and stay aligned with the budget.

Temporary Work

Removing a wall or digging a basement means taking load out of a building that's still standing. Temporary works are what hold it up in the meantime.

We design shoring, bracing and propping for basement excavations, load bearing wall removals and chimney breast removals, and issue the drawings your site team builds from.

Every design comes with a method statement setting out the sequence: what goes in first, what comes out next, and what stays untouched until the permanent structure is in place.

Contractors across London use us for their temporary works drawings, on jobs where getting the sequence wrong isn't an option.

Structural Reports

Where a project or property requires the formal opinion of a structural engineer, we carry out the inspection and issue a written report.

We cover:

Cracking and structural movement. We inspect the affected areas, establish the cause, and set out our recommendations. Where no remedial work is required, we say so.

Subsidence investigations. Reports for homeowners, insurers and managing agents where movement is suspected, with recommendations for monitoring, further investigation or remedial works.

Feasibility assessments. An early appraisal of what the existing structure can accommodate, carried out before a scheme is developed in detail, so structural constraints are flagged at the outset rather than at design stage.

Pre purchase structural inspections. Where a homebuyer's survey has flagged a concern that needs the assessment of a structural engineer, we inspect the property and report on what we find.

Advising Engineers

We act as checking and advising engineers on behalf of appointed party wall surveyors.

Our role is to review the building owner's structural proposals, including the permanent and temporary works drawings, the calculations and the method statement, and to assess whether the works as designed and as sequenced present any risk to the adjoining property.

We report our findings to the surveyor, setting out any concerns, the further information required, and the conditions we consider necessary for the award. Where the proposals are adequate, we confirm so promptly, so that the award is not delayed unnecessarily.
