Woodland Sauna
We completed the structural design of an outbuilding to be used as a sauna, set within a private woodland.
The building is partially buried, with the ground banked up over the sides and roof to minimise its visual impact and let it sit quietly within the landscape.
The main entrance is at the rear, and a fully glazed front elevation frames views out across the surrounding trees. The structure is based around a timber frame, designed to make use of the client's own supply of timber sourced from their estate.
The project has been featured in Ridiculously Good-Looking Saunas, published by Gestalten and curated by Christopher Selman, a collection of 36 remarkable sauna projects from around the world.
